Well, I was officially transferred(?) from the Stake Primary Secretary to the Stake Primary Music/Nursery Leader today. What I am hoping to get from you are all of the wonderful ideas that you or someone in your ward have used during Singing Time. I have to do a Stake Primary Music Workshop, and it is mainly to share new ideas on how to teach and practice primary songs. So, please share all of your wonderful ideas with me!! I know I can count on you guys!

Well you hit the jackpot with me...you'll never get me to shut up after being music leader for almost 5 years...call me
When my mom was a music leader she tried to find ways to appeal to the older boys who liked sports during music time (since they never want to particpate). During football season or Super Bowl season she used this. She made a giant football field on a couple posterboards and then put a football on a strong down the middle of the field. Then she would split the room in 1/2 and make them opposing teams. As the kids sang loudly and knew the words she would move the ball towards one endzone or the other for the corresponding team. The boys seemed to really like it.
I was going to tell you to call Danielle but I see she beat me to the punch...she was GREAT with those kiddos! Also, Ann just got called as the primary chorister and has some good ideas too! Good Luck!
Emily, as having been a former Primary music leader, piano teacher and music/movement teacher, you'd think I'd have some ideas. Hmmm...but can't seem to think of anything off hand. I'll rack my brain and get back to you!
I too had one word for you...DANIELLE....good luck you will do great!
Hello! Your blog is so cute! I have looked at it many times, but never made a comment. I don't have any ideas for your new calling, but I am sure you will be GREAT! Oh and I got those baby leg warmers at Dance Works, they are called baby legs! Have a good day!
When I was in primary my mom was the chorister. She did this really cute thing called "Sister Friendly". She got a cute bonnet and made a big apron with huge colorful pockets and would put props in the pockets that would hint toward a primary song. So you would just get different props, toys, pictures, ect, and picks children to come up and chose one and try to guess what song its for. its really fun, the kids can't call you Sis. Orton, you're Sis. Friendly.
